I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
